What age can my child start swimming? 6 months, however we do have a class called Aqua Rhyme Time which is designed to introduce baby’s into the water with mum or dad by their side. This is a great class for water familiarisation for both bub and parent.
How much is a swimming lesson? $15 with further discounts for 2nd, 3rd and 4th child.
How many make up lessons do I get per term and do they carry over? 3 per term but these cannot be carried over to the next term.
How do I know when my child is ready to go up a level? You will be informed by your child’s Learn to Swim Instructor when your little one is ready to move up a level. Please feel free to talk to the Instructor at any time if you have any questions or concerns.
What does my child wear during safety week? Please bring clothes and shoes that you are happy to have go into the pool.
What payment options are available for learn to swim? Learn to Swim terms can be paid for upfront or via fortnightly direct debit. Please note that direct debit payments incur a $1 fee per fortnightly transaction.
What age can my child go into crèche? 8 weeks.
Does my child need to be vaccinated? Yes.
How long can I leave my child in crèche for? A maximum of 2 hours per visit.
What happens if your child has allergies? Dinky Dolphins Crèche is a food free zone and we encourage only water and milk bottles on premises to minimise allergy risks.
How do you pay for crèche? We have casual, upfront and direct debit membership options available.
Does my membership include classes? Yes. Your membership gives you full access to all of our group fitness classes, Spin / Sprint and Aqua classes. Click here to see the group fitness timetable.
At what age can I join the gym? You can become a Dolphins Health Precinct Member from 14 years of age, however we do have restrictions on use as per Fitness Australia guidelines. Personal Training is compulsory for all juniors under the age of 18 and discounted packs and rates have been setup to assist. If you are 14 or 15 years of age you must be in the company of a parent or guardian to access the facility unless it is to attend a group fitness, spin or aqua class. Juniors aged 16 and 17 can access the facility without a parent or guardian once personal training has commenced.
Do I have to pay for lockers? Lockers can be accessed in the Fitness Centre side by purchasing a wrist / membership band for $15. This is only purchased once and is water and sweat-proof. This wristband gives you access to the facility and lockers. The Aquatic Centre lockers use a pin code so you do not need a band for that side.
What do I bring? You will need a towel to use the gym equipment and it is wise to bring a water bottle, however we do have 2 filtered hydration stations.
Do I need to book Group Fitness classes? We do ask that you book for Spin and Sprint classes due to their popularity. All other classes are a first in first position basis.
I am recovering from surgery or I have health complications. How do I know if I can exercise? Only your doctor can give you clearance if you have major health concerns, so please make sure you bring your certificate along. We do ask that you complete a pre-exercise questionnaire form so that we know what issues you may have. We can then offer guidance and support for your return to exercise. Please inform our Dolphins Health Precinct team if you have any concerns.
What temperature is the pool? The hydrotherapy pool is between 32˚C and 33˚C. The lap lane pool sits between 26˚C and 28˚C.
What concession cards do you accept? We accept Aged Pensioner, Seniors Card and Disability Concession.
How old do you have to be to participate in Aqua Classes? You can attend Aqua Classes from 12 years of age.
When are the best times to us the Aquatic Centre for swimming or hydrotherapy? We have better times for lap lane swimming and hydrotherapy use. Please click here for the lap lane availability.
How old can my child be to swim without an adult? 12 years of age. If they are under 12 years then an adult must be watching the child swim and within arm’s reach.
Is the pool and Aqua Classes included in my Membership? Yes. If you are a Member of Dolphins Health Precinct the hydrotherapy, lap lane and Aqua Classes are included in your Membership.
